Beauty is in the details...

Cope & Stick

Pinless technique.
Utmost quality.

There’s no questions about it. Cope and Stick joinery produces a great look for cabinet door frames. “Stick” is the molded edge cut along the frame’s inside edge. Any piece that meets that molding must match the profile by being “coped.” This subtle technique replaces the typical round-over profile with a clean and square corner. The tenon on Valley Cabinet's Cope and Stick doors and drawer fronts is 5/8″ long and provides the strongest joint available.

KEY ADVANTAGES:

  • Standard door frame width is 2-1/4”
  • Constructed using the pinless technique in a rotary clamp
  • Standard frame size on 5-piece drawer fronts is 1-1/4″ top and bottom rails with the stiles 2-1/4″ wide
  • We do not pin the backside of our frames, just clamp

Size Limitations:
303 Door: 2-1/4" rails

Minimum Sizes

2 1⁄4" Frame
Minimum: 8" x 8 3⁄4"

Midrail - Midrail FYI

To guarantee against warping, doors that are 48" or taller will automatically have a center rail added unless specified as “single panel" by the customer. Center rails are 2 1⁄2" wide unless otherwise specified and will match the inside edge profile. Doors over 24" wide with a single panel will not be warrantied. Standard frame size on 5-piece drawer fronts is 1 1⁄4" top and bottom rails with the stiles 2 1⁄4" wide to match the door unless otherwise specified. Wider or narrower frames are available upon request.   If  making the door 2 panels high, add a "5" to the door style name.

between panel and frame is needed as 1/4" panels tend to stain slightly darker.
